It's the late, late show again. . .

Boro players congratulate goal hero Joseph-Desire Job at the final whistle
After losing two points last Saturday against Fulham, by letting in two injury time goals, Boro turned the tables this week by grabbing the only goal of the game in the final seconds against Blackburn.

In a generally poor game Boro kept at Rovers until the death and were rewarded when Joseph-Desire Job scored a simple tap-in from six-yards after good work by Geremi.

The Cameroon star broke clear down the right after Nils-Eric Johansson had miscontrolled the ball and Job arrived late in the box as Geremi rolled the ball across the six-yard line.

Boro had struggled to get into gear with some shoddy passing and were fortunate that Blackburn did not take the lead in the first half with a number of good opportunities, the best falling to Andy Cole who fired over from the edge of the box.

Boro did create chances but the finishing was woeful, as Carlos Marinelli skied the best chance into row Z after good approach work from Massimo Maccarone and Alen Boksic.

Mark Schwarzer was kept busy and made a number of important saves before Job's injury-time winner. Brad Friedel was the quieter of the two keepers but he did make a great save from a Geremi free-kick with minutes left.

Steve McClaren will be a satisfied manager after the disappointment of last week but you have got to take your chances whenever they come and that's exactly what Boro did.
