On loan Dutch winger Boudewijn Zenden will miss the big Premiership showdown against his Chelsea on Sunday.
The Blues have refused to allow the 27-year-old international to play in the game.
Indeed, Chelsea have stipulated that all players who leave Stamford Bridge to join other Premiership clubs on loan will not be allowed to play against them.
Despite Boro appealing to Chelsea at the top level, the Blues would not reconsider their decision and therefore Zenden will miss his first Premiership game for Boro since his switch.
