The Boro defender was shown a straight red card by referee Steve Tanner for allegedly hauling down Hull striker Geovanni in the area five minutes from the end of the 2-1 defeat at The KC Stadium.
Wheater will therefore now have to serve a one game ban which rule's him out of Boro's home match against Arsenal this coming weekend.
