On Tuesday night a youthful Boro side beat York City in the 1st round of the North Riding Senior Cup, in Billingham. Runners-up last year Boro are seeking to win back the trophy that they won the previous year.

A couple of the Boro players had first team experience behind them, but other than Mark Wilson they have only made a handful of appearences.

The game began badly for Boro as they fell behind in the 11th minute. Then six minutes later they were back in the game with a hotly disputed goal, converted by Adam Johson, from a Danny Graham cross.

Two more goals from Graham and an o.g. put Middlesbrough 3-1 up by the break.

Team:
Roberts, Burgess, Taylor, Bates (Hines 46), Radcliffe, Clough, Wilson, Peacock, Johnson (Robson 66), Graham, Lemaire (Wheater 75)

Some of the team are likely to feature in this evenings clash with Sunderland at the Riverside in the 4th round of the FA Youth Cup, kick-off is 7pm.
