Ugo deal is dead

The on-off transfer has finally been settled, with Ehiogu staying put on Teesside. After weeks of discussions the big defender could not agree terms with the Baggies.

The deal was close to completion over a week ago but Boro pulled the plug after Gareth Southgate injured his ankle against Nuneaton.

The deal was back on when it was revealed that Southgate's injury was not as serious as it was intially thought, however Boro refused to allow Ehiogu to go on loan after is was disclosed that he had 18 months of his contract remaining and not 6 as first suggested.

Ehiogu is now back in the squad for the visit of Wigan on Saturday.



In other transfer news Everton are interested in Mark Viduka, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink could be on his way to Fulham, with Mark Crossley returning to Boro. Szilard Nemeth is close to signing for Strasbourg while Boro have shown an interest in Barcelona's utilty player Gabri.
