The draw takes place in Monaco late Friday morning, when Boro will discover their first ever European opposition for the first leg on Thursday September 16 and second leg on Thursday September 30.

The club’s Commercial Manager Graham Fordy said: “Such is the historic relevance to our first ever European tie, we are anticipating considerable interest from our supporters.

“As soon as the draw is made, we will publish full ticket and travel details on our official website and release the information to the local media.

“We strongly advise supporters wanting to attend the away leg not to book their travel arrangements before they have ensured that they have actually been successful in their ticket application. They risk committing themselves to non-refundable travel expenses only to find they have not been able to purchase a ticket for the game.

“As is our policy for games where demand is extremely high, we plan to give our longest serving Red Book holders priority on tickets for the away leg, using the patron number prefixing season ticket numbers as a guide.

“Fans will be able to book ticket and travel packages via the football club for the away leg, though all applications will be handled by post.

“Wherever our first ever UEFA Cup away ties takes place, we will endeavour to keep the travel cost to our supporters to a minimum.”
