Tottenham tracking Middlesbrough starlet Isaiah Jones

Tottenham have asked to be kept informed over the future of young Middlesbrough star Isaiah Jones, who impressed during the two clubs' recent FA Cup clash.

Boro triumphed over Spurs 1-0 on Tuesday thanks to Josh Coburn's strike in extra time, though it was Jones' display at right wing-back that impressed the visitors.

Tottenham have had problems filling the right full-back position since Kyle Walker left in 2017, with the likes of Serge Aurier, Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal all failing to find form.

However, 90min understands the north London club are tracking Jones, having been impressed by his performance on Tuesday. The 22-year-old has been one of Chris Wilder's top performers this season, registering eight assists in the Championship, but Spurs aren't the only interested club.

Manchester United, West Ham and Crystal Palace are all watching him closely, while Atletico Madrid, Ajax and RB Leipzig have also kept an eye on his performances. Brighton and Brentford are also interested.

Jones' performances have also shown why Boro elected to send Djed Spence - currently impressing at Nottingham Forest - out on loan.

However, Jones' future will depend on how the club finish the season. If Boro manage to secure promotion, he would stay at the Riverside Stadium. They are currently eighth, two points behind sixth-placed Luton in the playoff places, as they target a first Premier League season since 2016/17.

Boro will discover their quarter-final opponents in the FA Cup when the draw is made on Thursday night. Having already knocked out Manchester United and Tottenham, they could be drawn against the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City or Liverpool.
