The road to glory!

The fourth round of the Carling Cup continues tonight with five matches around the country.

Whilst Boro take on Championship side Crystal Palace at the Riverside three Premiership clashes will be taking place.

Wigan v Newcastle

Charlton v Blackburn

Man Utd v West Brom

The only other game this evening is the 2004 Carling Cup runner’s up, Bolton v Leicester at the Reebok Stadium.

The draw has handed Boro a great advantage over their fellow premiership sides and this opportunity must not be wasted.

We may be able to beat Arsenal and Man United but it’s when we’re favourites that things go wrong.

They may have been struggling with consistency but Middlesbrough has yet to concede a goal in either the Uefa or Carling Cup.

All being well there wouldn’t be a cup upset like yesterday when Aston Villa were beat 3 - 0 by Doncaster.

In the two others games played last night both Premiership teams were successful, with Arsenal beating Reading 3 - 0 and Birmingham defeating Millwall 4 -3 on penalties (2 – 2 90 minutes).
