There are a number of options available. The simplest and most probable is to replace Mendi with Szilard Nemeth. Szil has come on as substitute and replaced the Spaniard in the last two games.
Another option could be to move Ray Parlour out to the right and bring Doriva into the middle with George Boateng, or if McClaren wants to bring in wing wizard Stuart Downing, he could move Bolo Zenden into the middle.
At the back Ugo Ehiogu is available again and could replace Chris Riggott, while Stuart Parnaby will continue at right back, in place of the injured Michael Reiziger. Up front it is expected that Mark Viduka will continue alongside JFH.
