Strachan Makes First Signing!

“I have played against Colin Cooper and Steve Agnew, I knew Martin Scott when he was manager at Hartlepool when my son played there, and I knew Steve Pears from my time at Manchester United.

“Gordon McQueen from the scouting staff is another I already knew.

“So it is not like starting from scratch. What I have seen already is that the coaches here are very, very enthusiastic.

“In fact they could not wait to get started on Monday morning. I thought I was there early, but they were there before me.”
