Southgate outlines plans

Having spent his first weekend at his desk Southgate announced the support staff that he would have around him.

The main changes are that Malcolm Crosby will move from Reserve team coach to become his assistant and the Reserve team duties would be taken on by Colin Cooper.

The roles of Steve Round, Steve Harrison and Paul Barron are largely unchanged, but Southgate has removed some of the administrational duties of Steve Round in particular, so that the trio can concentrate coaching.

Boro's new manager is now concentrating on improving his squad before the players return to training at the end of next week.
