Gareth Southgate admitted to being bitterly disappointed with Boro's performance after the 5-0 home drubbing by Chelsea.
After one of their poorest performances in recent years at Riverside Stadium the Boro boss said:"We had a horrendous day and pretty much everything that could have gone wrong did."Their class exposed us and we have got to learn lessons from it.
"We were poor and there are no excuses.
"Hopefully in the long run it will do us some good as it will show us what we need to do."
