With Didier Digard, Gary O'Neil and Emanuel Pogatetz back to fitness, and on-loan boys Caleb Folan and Sean St Ledger in the fray, team selection is difficult.

But Gareth Southgate is hoping the hot competition for places will give the squad a new boost of adrenaline.

Southgate: “You always want all your best players available and we are moving in that direction.

“We hope that Gary O’Neil will be back, while Didier Digard will be that extra bit fitter.

“It wasn’t easy for Caleb Folan and Sean St Ledger on Saturday when things were going wrong around them, but they are settling in nicely.

“Now we hope to be a strong and together unit at Coventry.”
