Socceroos earn creditable draw

The Socceroos went a goal down inside ten minutes through Ruud van Nistlerooy but they fought back with a second half goal from Tim Cahill.

Mark Viduka missed a penalty early in the second half, before Cahill equalised, then ex-Boro midfielder Luke Wilkshire was sent off with 30 minutes remaining.

Viduka and Mark Bresciano were sacrificed for fresh legs as the Socceroos hung on for a draw.

Mark Schwarzer was in goal for the Socceroos who have one more warm up game, agianst Liechtenstein on Wednesday, before they start their World Cup campaign a week tomorrow.
