RIP George Hardwick

A true Boro legend died today at the age of 84. The Saltburn born Boro defender is honoured with a statue outside the Riverside and there will be a minute's silence before the game on Saturday in his honour.

He made his debut in 1937 but the war years curtailed his career. He captained England in all his 13 appearances and played 166 games for the Boro.
