Midfielder Gary O'Neil starts a two-match suspension following his 10th yellow card of the campaign at Bolton last week, while Boro hope winger Adam Johnson will pass a late fitness test on his injured ankle.

Daniel Cousin remains doubtful for Hull's crucial Barclays Premier League clash at Middlesbrough but George Boateng could face his former club.

Former Rangers striker Cousin has missed the last three games with a back injury and Hull are awaiting the results of an assessment before determining his fitness.

Midfielder Boateng is more likely to make his comeback after three months out with a knee injury. Manager Phil Brown has earmarked the Dutchman for a place on the bench.

Hull have no new injuries but Jimmy Bullard (knee) and Anthony Gardner (back) remain out long term.
