Reserves beat Liverpool

Christie made his first start for almost a year and eased himself back with a 45 minute run-out. Here's hoping that this is the end of his injury nightmare and we see him in action for the first team before the season is out.

Boro took the lead after 35 minutes, but not before both sides created a number of good chances, David Knight making a number of saves to thwart a lively Liverpool attack.

The goal came from a Tom Craddock cross which was turned into his own goal by Goodwin Antwi, but the lead was to last only three minutes as Ramon Calliste converted a penalty, given away by Jonathan Grounds.

The game was won when Tom Craddock scored a hatrick in just over ten minutes early in the second half, as the Reserves kept up their ever impressive form this season

The game also provided another useful run-out for Tony McMahon after his return from six months on the injury list.

Boro team:
Knight, McMahon, Grounds, Liddle, Bates, Wheater, Fisher (Burgess), Kennedy, Christie (Hutchinson), Craddock, Johnson (Clough).
