Postponement Threat . . .

Those poor Geordies up the road are winding us up again. Anything to revenge their pityful moaning from two seasons ago when we postponed the derby game at the Riverside for safety reasons.

The fact that a severe overnight freeze meant that the stands could not be cleared of snow and ice is irrelevant. If my memory serves me right Gareth Southgate was struggling for the game but was fit and well for the re-arranged game, which Boro won 1-0.

Four Newcastle first team players have come down with conjunctivitis and the training ground has been closed while they disinfect the changing rooms. They've already pulled the plug on tomorrows reserve game so lets wait and see what perspires at the weekend.
