The experience told as Chris Riggott, Danny Graham (3) and Malcolm Christie scored without reply.

Ugo Ehiogu and Riggott were given a useful 70 minute run-out while Christie played the full 90 minutes.

Unfortunately Stuart Parnaby had to leave the field with 10 minutes remaining after injuring his knee. Danny Graham had also left the field by this time with an injury, so Boro played the last 10 minutes with nine men.

In the final minute Leeds had Ian Morris sent off following a melee involving Tony McMahon and Mark Wilson.
