O'Neill To Slap In Transfer Request!

The 25-year-old joined Boro in January 2007 in a £5million deal from Portsmouth, and the player has made it known he wants a return to the South coast.

O'Neil has never settled in the North East and was linked with a move back to Portsmouth earlier in the summer.

Southgate has told O'Neil he will not be allowed to leave the club this month, but the player is ready to hand in a transfer request to try and push through a deal back to Fratton Park.

Will Southgate try to keep a player who is not happy?
