No New Faces This Week

Season ticket sales soared at the end of last week with the signing of Michael Reiziger, Mark Viduka and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. We were accustomed to the almost daily press conference to introduce the latest signing, but that now seems so long ago.

All week we have been waiting for the next call, would it be Zenden or Geremi from Chelsea, or even both? The Zenden deal appears to be far from settled while Geremi states he would like to stay and fight for his place.

Owen Hargreaves was linked again but his transfer fee would frighten Boro off. Finally Ray "Charlie Dimmock" Parlour was cited, probably looking for a new contract to keep his scrounging ex happy.

After strengthening the front line and shoring up the defence it is important that we aquire some new blood in the midfield. With the new season only four weeks away we need the new recruit(s) now so that we can be out of the starting blocks with a settled side.

You only have to look at the start last season to know what a difference it can make. Wouldn't it be a great feeling to start off with three points and be sat joint top for a few days! Even more satisfying that the Geordies would be joint bottom!
