No more than Coops deserves

Boro's final pre-season friendly against Chievo on Saturday 12th August (ko-3pm) will now be a benefit match for one of Boro's class of '86.

Coops almost gave up the game following the tragic death of his son four years ago but was persuaded by family, friends and colleagues to continue.

And continue he did, helping Boro to win their first major trophy and running out for Boro in Europe, something few would have dreamed of back in the dark days of the eighties.

Super Cooper played over 400 games for Boro during his two spells at the club, spanning 20 years. In between his two stints at Boro he played for Millwall and Nottingham Forest, where he won two caps for England.

As a memory to his son, Finlay, he will set up the Dragonfly Fund and donate the procedes from the game against Chievo to local charities.

Why not get yourself their and support one the best profesionals that Boro have ever seen. Good on ya Colin, you deserve it.
