No More Bidding For Harper?

With Lee Cattermole gone it remains to be seen whether Gareth Southgate replaces Catts with a new midfielder.

James Harper has been rumoured for some while now to be top of Boro's wanted list and having already bid around £4 million it looks as though that is as high as we are willing to go. Reading are said to value Harper at £5.5 million, a figue that is some way off the price Boro are wanting to pay for the player.

Harper is a player who will run all day for you, play simple passes and make as many runs forward as he can. Therefore, he could come in and be given the role which links midfield to attack from central midfield. However, at 27 he isnt getting any younger and the price Reading are looking for seems way too high.

In my opinion, we dont need a replacement for Cattermole as Walker, Shawky, O'Neil, Digard and Arca can all play centre midfield aswell as Tuncay if needed.

What do you think?
