No late dealings!

Unlike recent years when the final day of the transfer window has seen a number of last minute transfers go through, it was quiet at the Riverside with Gareth Southgate settling for the one addition to his squad.

Lee Dong-gook was paraded for the press yesterday after he completed the paperwork for his transfer from Pohang Steelers. The deal was agreed over a week ago but needed a work permit and visa before the South Korean could officially become a Boro player.

Boro did reduce their wage bill by off-loading three high earrners in Ugo Ehiogu (Rangers), Ray Parlour (contract cancelled) and Massimo Maccarone (Siena).

It was believed that Gaizka Mendieta would also leave the club and return to Spain but his proposed move to Real Sociedad didn't materialise.
