Geremi, who signed last week from Real Madrid revealed that the big draw of coming to Boro was first team football.

He said "In Madrid I did not play a lot and that is why I decided to play in the Premier League. I spoke with him (McClaren) and he wants to build a great team and that is why he signed me. We have to prove on the field we are a good team and we have to work hard. I knew about Job and Karembeu, so I did know about Middlesbrough - I have always followed them because of the Premier League."

Boateng also spoke about his move to Boro, citing his hunger for success as one reasonm, "I think I have made a very good choice and it's great for me and Middlesbrough. These past two days I have seen the hunger for success come to again. I want achieve, I didn't come here just to make up the numbers," he said.

Boro boss Steve McClaren had words of encouragement for both players saying, "The number one reason I signed them was because they are quality and are damn good football players," said McClaren. They are both strong, mobile, quick and great additions to our squad."

Both players could make their debuts for Boro at Bradford tonight as McClaren takes his full squad for a run-out against the Nationwide Division 1 outfit.

Meanwhile Jununho was settling back into life on Teesside after arriving from Brazil with his wife and young daughter. He is expected to be introduced at another press conference tomorrow afternoon.

Boro fans may have to wait until the season starts, since Boro still have to arrange his international clearance papers. Wednesdays match against Alaves will probably come too soon, but he may have a chance of taking part in the Errea Cup on Saturday in Italy.
