Following the £1.75m signing of Julio Arca from Sunderland Lamb confirmed that Boro were expecting to sign Robert Huth on loan, with an option make the deal permanent, once his fitness was assured.
Lamb also confirmed that Boro were in talks with Manchester City for Sylvain Distin and had lodged a £4m bid for the central defender.
And finally Lamb confirmed that Boro were interested in Brett Emerton from Blackburn and had had talks with his club.
The Huth deal is expected to go through sooner rather than later, but the other two signings are still in the negotiation stage.
Boro have given permission to Fulham for Franck Queudrue to join up with their pre-season tour of Austria. Negotiations are at a very advanced stage and the Frenchman is expected to sign for the London club in the next couple of days.
