Middlesbrough v Egaleo: Ticket bonanza

Last updated : 11 October 2004 By Reggie Holdsworth
A number of colleagues have been sounding off today regarding the sale of tickets for the Egaleo game this week.

Why are they going straight on general sale?
What about us season ticket holders getting first choice?
Etc, Etc, Etc. . .

Having phoned the ticket office to air the views of my collegues I was told that the club were only expecting around 1200 applications for tickets (the same number that applied for Banik tickets).

And later in the conversation it was stated that Boro could increase their allocation upto a maximum of 5000 should the demand warrant it.

The cost of travel to Athens could be the governing factor on this occasion with the bulk of flights pre-booked by Arsenal who play in the Greek capital the night before Boro and Newcastle.
