Middlesbrough: Transfer speculation continues

The speculation about new arrivals has continued to mount over the past week with Geremi being the main focus of interest. The Cameroon star has pleaded with Chelsea to release him but assistant manager at the Bridge, Steve Clarke, has said no one is leaving.

Speculation has also included Olivier Dacourt from Roma, Steed Malbranque from Fulham and Bobo Balde from Celtic, to name but a few.

Boro have allowed Andrew Davies a chance of some first team action by agreeing to let the youngster go to QPR on loan for a month.

Several players including Mark Schwarzer, Carlo Nash and now Tony McMahon have issues with new contracts that could see them moving on now or in the summer.

However, I think in the case of young McMahon it's all about wanting a better deal, after captaining the youth team to victory in the Youth Cup and breaking into the first team.

Elsewhere, ex-Boro legend Juninho is unhappy at Celtic, after not holding down a regular place in the first team the little Brazilian could be heading back to his homeland.

Another Boro favourite has also been on the move, Hamilton Ricard has returned from exile in South America to sign for Cypriot champions APOEL FC. Incidentally Ricard remains Boro's top Premiership scorer with 33 goals.
