Mr Halsey took charge of two Boro games last season, ironically he started with Boro's opening game of the season against Liverpool at the Riverside and finished with Boro's final game of the season at Fulham.

Against Liverpool he booked five players and sent off Ugo Ehiogu, but Boro hung on to earn a 0-0 draw. At Fulham he booked just Danny Graham as 'the kids' lsot 1-0.

In total last season he has officiated in 38 games, booking just 54 and sending off six players.

He has been refereeing since 1989 and was promoted to the Premier League list in 1999. Promotion to the FIFA list followed just a year later in 2000 and he refereed his first full international in 2004.
