Mike Dean (Merseyside)

Mr Dean takes charge of his fifth Boro game this season, the first two being league games against Charlton (lost 3-0) and Aston Villa (won 3-2), the third being the FA Cup 3rd round game at Nuneaton (drew 1-1), and the last one was the away game at West Brom (won 2-0).
In total this season he has officiated in 30 games season flashing the yellow card on 89 occasions and the red card 8 times. Last season he officiated in 24 games dishing out 66 yellow and 7 red cards.
He is now a regular referee in the Premiership having started on the Football League list in 1997. He was appointed to the Premier League list in 2000 and has refereed over 80 Premier League matches to date.
He was appointed to the UEFA list in 2003 and has officiated in a number of European and international matches.
He was the referee for the Community Shield between Arsenal and Manchester United in 2004 and also refereed the FA Trophy Final in the same year.
He will be assisted DJ Cann and JH Holbrook, while the fourth official is Uriah Rennie.
