Mr. Rennie takes charge of his second Boro game this season, the first being the away trip at Wigan when he booked Emanuel Pogatetz, the first booking in three games, when he has been in charge of Boro games.

Last season he was in charge of two Boro games, both at the Riverside, against Coventry in the Carling Cup (won 3-0) and Southampton in the Premier League (lost 3-1), when he did not book a single player.

Rennie started refereeing in 1979 and progressed to the Premier League list in 1997, he has since refereed over 100 Premier League games.

In total last season he refereed in 31 games, showing the yellow card 64 times and the red card twice. To date this season he has officiated in 13 games, booking 24 players and sending off two.
