b. 26/1/1963

Mr. Dowd takes charge of his third Boro game this season. Both the previous games resulted in victories, so he could be the deciding factor tomorrow night.

His first game in charge was the 3-0 win at Birmingham early in the season and the second was the 2-0 FA Cup win at Preston in the last round.

So far this season he has officiated in 42 games, booking 169 and sending off seven. Last season he officiated in a total of 36 games, booking 116 and sending off seven.

He was appointed to the Football League list in 1997 and was promoted to the Premier League list in 2001. He is yet to referee a major cup final but he was fourth official at the Division 1 Play-off Final in 2001 and for the Community Shield in 2004.

His assistants are Mr. S Proctor-Green and Mr T. Massey. The fourth official is Howard Webb.
