Mr. Wiley returns to the Riverside for his second game this season, the first being the memorable 4-1 victory over Manchester United. He was fairly busy that evening booking five players, but only Emanuel Pogatetz from Boro.

Last season he was in charge of 32 games during which he flashed the yellow card 78 times and the red card 5 times. So far this season he has shown the yellow card 58 times and the red card 3 times, in 20 games.

He has been refereeing in the Football League since 1995 and was promoted to the Premier League list in 1999. To date he has officiated in over 130 Premier League games and was the referee in charge of the 2002 Community Shield between Arsenal and Liverpool.

Mr. Wiley will be assisted by Dave Bryan (Lincolnshire) and John Holbrook (Worcestershire), while the fourth official is Eddie Ilderton (Tyne & Wear).
