Signore Paparesta has been refereeing in the Serie B since 1997 and started in Serie A in 2000. He was promoted to the FIFA list in 2003 and has officiated in almost 20 games under FIFA's control, including Everton's 5-1 thrashing by Dinamo Bucharest earlier this season in the UEFA Cup.

Destined for great things the 36-year-old Bari born referee is the youngest international referee in Italian football history.

His assistants are fellow Italians Marco Farina & Andrea Consolo and the fourth official is Mario Mazzoleni.
