McDonald's agent has confirmed Boro are in talks with Celtic over a deal for the Australia international.
Which can only be GOOD news for Boro fans.
Gordon Strachan, to his credit, has refused to take "no" for an answer ... and he could yet leave the best until last in this transfer window.
He has already raided his former club to sign Barry Robson, Willo Flood, Chris Killen and Stephen McManus ... but McDonald would be the biggest scoop of the lot.
McDonald's agent Ken Anderson: "All we can say is that we understand an offer was made by Middlesbrough to Celtic for Scott and that negotiations are continuing between the clubs over a transfer fee."
