Yakubu is in the Nigerian squad for a friendly against Ghana at Griffin Park (Brentford) on the same night.
Earlier this week three Boro youngsters were also called up to represent England U17's.
Jonathan Franks, Nathan Porritt and Jason Steele are in the England squad for a UEFA friendfly tournament against Portugal, France and Germany.
The tournament takes place in Portugal in late February.
