Injury shock for Boro

Southgate injured his ankle against Nuneaton at the weekend but the full extent of the injury is just being realised.

It is suspected that the Boro captain has a stress fracture of his ankle and could be sidelined for three months, if the injury is confirmed with tests later today.

Just as you thought the injury situation was improving it gets worse, with Southgate joining the recently injured George Boateng and Franck Queudrue on the treatment table.

Thankfully Stewart Downing and Ray Parlour played their first games for several months last night for the Reserves.
