Gordon Strachan last week extended Marcus Bent and Isaiah Osbourne’s loan spells, as well as Gary O’Neill’s contract until 2012, and the Scot has been linked (by the Sunday Sun) with a move for Derby forward Rob Hulse.
Gareth Southgate was interested in the 30-year-old, but Hulse turned down a move to Teesside last summer.
Nigel Clough last night admitted: “There has been talk but we’ve had no official bids or contact. There have been one or two inquiries asking if players are available but nothing concrete at the moment.”
But he refused to name the clubs.
