Nick Barmby: "Middlesbrough is a model we look at. It just proves teams like that can stay in the Premier League.

"Look at catchment area and fanbase, Hull and Middlesbrough are both very similar.

"It is imperative we stay in the Premier League. Middlesbrough have been staying in the Premier League every year, getting that bit better.

"If you are an established Premier League side you have got more pull. You can bring in better players. It has a massive knock-on effect and the kids in the area are watching Premier League football week-in, week-out year-in, year-out."
