Grounds out and Emnes in for Boro

TONY MOWBRAY has binned the three-man central defence that served him well at Millwall for Middlesbrough's match with Championship leaders QPR at the Riverside Stadium.

Jonathan Grounds has been the casualty of the decision, with Seb Hines asked to play alongside Andrew Davies at the heart of the Boro backline.

Grounds' place on the bench means that Marvin Emnes is the man given the chance to shine again. The Dutch winger will start on the right, with Mowbray resisting the temptation to hand a first start to Merouane Zemmama.

MIDDLESBROUGH (4-4-2): Steele; McMahon, Hines, Davies, Bennett; Emnes, Bailey, Arca, Taylor; Lita, McDonald. Subs: Ripley (gk), Haas, Boyd, Zemmama, Robson, Grounds, Smallwood.

QPR (4-4-2): Kenny; Orr, Hall, Shittu, Hill; Routledge, Derry, Tarrabt, Faurlin; Buzsaky, Helguson. Gorkss, Connolly, Hulse, Vaagan-Moen, Cerny (gk), Ephraim, Miller.
