Gerrard misses Anfield clash

Gerrard received three-match ban yesterday, after being found guilty of violent conduct at an FA disciplinary hearing.

The FA charged Gerrard after viewing video evidence of the player's two-footed lunge on Everton's Gary Naysmith during the Merseyside derby at Anfield on December 22, referee Graham Poll, having not seen the incident properly.

The ban takes immediate effect so he will miss tomorrow's FA Cup replay with Crystal Palace, Saturday's match with Boro and the trip to Birmingham a fortnight later. He will also not be considered for selection by Sven-Göran Eriksson for next week's friendly with Australia.
