Blackpool came from behind to beat Newcastle 2-1 and end their unbeaten start to the Championship season at Bloomfield Road.

The Seasiders dominated the majority of proceedings throughout but despite forcing Steve Harper in the Newcastle goal into a string of saves, they fell behind to an Andy Carroll header six minutes before the break.

Brett Ormerod deservedly levelled just before the break when he hit home from close range following another Harper effort and Jason Euell secured the three points for the home side when he smashed home a loose ball at the second attempt midway through the second period.

The win sees Blackpool move up to 11th in the league, while Newcastle, who conceded their first goals since the opening day of the season, remain in third position.

Cardiff got their campaign back on track at the Madejski Stadium with a 1-0 win as Reading's wretched home form continued.

Chris Burke's second-half goal settled the contest in favour of the Welsh side who finished with 10 men following Stephen McPhail's red card.
