The 56-year-old former England coach, who parted company with Boro last year, could replace Steve Keen.Harrison was at Boro for seven years, having been brought to Teesside by Steve McClaren.
Blackpool-born Harrison managed Watford in the late Eighties and also coached at Millwall, Crystal Palace, Wolves and Preston.
