The on-loan Hull striker suffered a torn hamstring in training on Sunday.
Gareth Southgate: "We don't know the length of time he'll be out for yet but it looks like quite a serious one."
Southgate will also be without defenders Andrew Taylor and Chris Riggott (both ankle), who remain sidelined alongside long-term absentee Matthew Bates (knee ligaments).
