Folan, who's last goal came on the first day of last season, has started all four of the Tigers' Premier League games so far this term, but has now fallen down the pecking order at the KC Stadium.
Hull manager Phil Brown has brought in forwards Kamil Ghilas, Jozy Altidore and Jan Vennegor of Hesselink, and Folan has been left out of the squad for Saturday's game against Sunderland.
