Middlesbrough defender Rhys Williams is hopeful of playing his way into the first XI after returning to the side following a pelvic injury.Williams, 21, had not featured for Boro since the FA Cup defeat by Manchester City in January but returned to the side in Saturday's 1-0 loss at Cardiff.
"I feel good, I played half an hour and I feel better than I thought I would," Williams told BBC Tees.
"Hopefully with an intense week of training I'll be in line for a start."
Williams, who has been capped at Under-21 level for Wales, recently agreed an extension to his contract that ties him to the club until the summer of 2013.
While Williams has shown promise in Gordon Strachan's first team, Boro have struggled to match the results of their North East rivals Newcastle United in the Championship, although hopes remain of a late surge to the play-offs.
"It's been like that all season, we just can't put our finger on why we keep losing," said Williams.
"Maybe this season we've been unlucky, and we haven't scored enough goals, but these are things we have to fix and we need to fix them soon.
"There's not long left but still a lot of points to play for and in this league anything can happen, we'll keep working away and hopefully we can get a few results to push us back up there."
