Gareth Southgate: “Everybody could see that there should have been a free kick to us before the first goal.
“If that had been given, then you assume that it would have been a different game.
“But then they get a free kick and the shot is deflected into the net.
“Before we have a chance to settle we are two down. Danny Coyne did well to come out and clear, and it was unfortunate that the ball fell to Chris Brunt.
“To be fair to the lad he still had a lot to do. It was a great finish.
“After that all confidence seeped out of us. That’s what we have to deal with.
“We have to ensure that if this happens again, then our response is completely different.”
