England to play at Riverside?

It would be the first time in 66 years that Middlesbrough has played host to a full International, although the Riverside has hosted U21 internationals. The last time England beat Wales 2-1 at Ayresome with Stanley Matthews scoring the winner.

England still have two home qualification games which have not been assigned a ground, but with Sunderlands Stadium of Light sting the qualifier v Turkey it is more likely that Boro will have to settle for a friendly.

FA spokesman Adrian Bevington said: "We have a number of grounds under consideration for several home fixtures during the qualification programme, including a number of friendly games.

"The Riverside is certainly one of those under consideration for one of those fixtures."
