The 24-year-old made his Boro debut at The Riverside following his transfer from Colchester.
Mark Yeates: "Personally I'm pretty pleased.
"I spoke with the gaffer and he was pretty pleased too.
"I just wish that low shot had crept into the bottom corner, a goal on my debut would have been nice.
"All in all I think we played some good football, it was just frustrating not to get the win."
