Stewart Downing may well be playing for Sunderland this weekend as talks about a loan deal are going ahead.
Downing has started one game this season (against Brighton in the Cup). The Boro born 19 year-old midfielder should benefit enormously from the experience, easpecially if given a run in the first division clubs next few games.
